"Kol" (with a kaf, not a kuf) means "all." As Jews, when we pray in Hebrew we tend to get a little proprietary about God and even aboutinclusive language. "Hakol" means everything, not just Jews and not just Jews and the things that are important to us. After the very particular introduction that leads up to this word detailing by name the earliest Jews and placing us in the context of their unique relationships with God, it is important to be returned to the universal claim God has on everything.
